The Kenwood KDC-BT500U is just one of a new range of head units for 2016, featuring the very latest technology and a host of new features.
The headline feature of the KDC-BT500U is the inclusion of Kenwood’s advanced Bluetooth functionality. It is now possible to simultaneously pair two phones via Bluetooth. Each phone can then be used as a hands-free device.
This is particularly useful for users with two phones, perhaps a work phone and a personal phone, or for those who share a vehicle with others and wish to remain paired to the head unit.
This feature can be used with both Android or Apple mobile devices and ensures a safe and enjoyable hands free experience while driving.
When paired for audio streaming, the KDC-BT500U uses AVRCP 1.5 for music browsing. Another new feature for 2016, AVRCP 1.5 allows wireless browsing of music on your device via bluetooth.
If you do choose to connect to the KDC-BT500U with a wired connection the 1.5Amp quick charge USB function keeps your device on charge. The KDC-BT500U also uses Android Open Accessory support for USB audio streaming and allows full iPod and iPhone USB playback.
