Just like the recent digital TV switchover tick mark, the digital radio tick mark has been devised to give you confidence that you are purchasing a radio that is ‘future ready’, or in other words, is ready for any future digital radio switchover.
All approved products have to include DAB, DAB+ and FM and undergo rigorous testing including quality of reception, tuning and other digital radio features.
In order to be granted use of the tick mark, manufacturers must meet the standard specification. In order for the manufacturer to prove that they meet the minimum specification, they must put their product through extensive testing.
Kenwood’s line up now comes with Digital Tick approval, starting with the KDC-BT48DAB after proving it met the regulations for full spec operation.
This is important for your listening enjoyment and means your device is future proofed and the DAB network will keep switching to the same or very similar channel as you travel throughout the UK. This means you can travel the length of the country and enjoy the same music style without ever having to re-tune.
Furthermore, the tick also means the receiver is sensitive enough to lock on to weak signals and give full data tags on the unit, to find out more about the digital radio tick mark click here.
